Happy 80th Birthday Grandmom!

Today Grandmom Doris turned 80!!! Although, she spent most of the week in the hospital...(don't worry nothing too serious)she is coming home today! What a great birthday present! Did you ever think what it would feel like if you forgot everything that happened 5 minutes ago? So, you can just imagine Grandmom forgetting every few minutes not only that she is sick, but also in the hospital. I haven't been able to visit her because it's flu season and I'm not taking my little ones there if I don't have to. But, my parents said she has pulled out IV's a few times and even got up to wander off. Must be a pretty scary ordeal, huh? But, Grandmom keeps truckin'...so Grandmom enjoy your birthday weekend surrounded by the majority of your children...and rock on! Here are just a few little fun facts of the year 1932...the year Grandmom was born. ~It was a leap year! ~The Winter Olympics were held in Lake Placid, New York. ~The 1st Purple Heart was awarded. ~Jack Benny's radio show aired for the 1st time. ~Babe Ruth makes his famous called shot in the fifth inning of game 3 of the 1932 World Series. ~Mars Bar was sold for the 1st time. ~James Chadwick discovers the neutron. ~Zippo lighters were developed. ~Victor Jara, Chilean politician and singer-songwriter was born the same exact day! ~An earthquake in the Kansu Province in China kills 70,000.
Here is the present I put together for Grandmom. Thanks to everyone who participated...Grandmom now has a jar full of memories!!!
