Well, yesterday was officially the FIRST DAY OF SPRING! Yay! After all these worthless snows, gloomy, windy days, it will be nice to see the warmer weather appear with a lil sunshine! I know Spring is one of Grandmom's favorite seasons. Although, Granddad did the majority of the gardening, Grandmom loves to check out all the beautiful flowers!

Easter was always a fun-filled day at Grandmom and Granddad's house. I have fond memories of Easter Egg hunts at Beacon Hill and in Havre de Grace. All the aunts and uncles would get together and fill up TONS of plastic eggs and hide them outside. While all us cousins waited...we usually played monkey school or Huckle Buckle Beanstalk. (Tell me you've played them!?!) When I was younger we would get usually a bit of candy, but mostly pennies, nickles, and dimes. Whatever lose change was left laying around throughout the previous year, was put into those eggs! Since grandmom had TEN kids, they each had their own set of kids, and so forth. So, it was a house full. We were so spoiled as grandchildren to be surrounded by so many aunts, uncles, and cousins! In addition to the egg hunt, we would have a wonderful early Easter dinner with a DELICIOUS coconut bunny cake for dessert by grandma. Anytime I make coconut cake, I think of her.

With Easter around the corner, I am so excited to celebrate it with my family! I love carrying on the tradition of an egg hunt outback, ham dinner, and a coconut cake for dessert! Happy Spring everyone!
